Welcome to The Boldly Podcast, where we take you behind the scenes of working at Boldly and answer your most frequently asked questions.

In this episode, Director of Team Operations Hollie Swofford and Recruitment Manager Devin Drake cover:

  • Can I apply again?
  • Will your team give me feedback on why I wasn’t selected?

If you’ve been considering a career with Boldly, this episode is a must-listen!

Hollie: Greetings and welcome back to the Boldly Podcast. I’m your host, Hollie Swofford, the Director of Team Operations at Boldly, and I’m joined by Boldly Recruitment Manager Devin Drake to talk about working at Boldly and answer the frequently asked questions we receive from candidates just like you to kick things off. As always, let’s hear from Devin.

Devin: Thanks Hollie, and a big thank you to everyone for tuning in. We’ve compiled a list of the top questions candidates ask, and throughout this podcast series, we’ll be answering them all. In this episode, we’re going to discuss reapplication for those who have applied previously and did not advance in our process.

Hollie: Great. We’ve gotten a couple of questions on this topic, so let’s jump right in. Can you speak to this question that was submitted? Will your team give me feedback on why my application wasn’t selected to advance?

Devin: Boldly receives a significant interest in our limited positions. By listening to this podcast and reviewing the requirements on our website, you’ll gain a better understanding of what we’re looking for. We would love to provide feedback to everyone, but to be candid, due to the large number of applications we receive, we simply don’t have the capacity to do so. I recommend checking out our tips for applying to Boldly blog posts to get an idea of what may have happened with your application. Please be sure that before you apply, you meet the experience requirements in the job description. We have so much respect for the executive assistant position, and it’s a hard job that not just anyone can do. You’ll need to have seven years of experience as an executive assistant or senior administrative assistant. Other types of roles will not qualify even if administrative duties were part of the responsibilities. And please keep in mind that experience is only one area that we evaluate. We look for people who share our values, and one of our values is paying attention to detail. This means putting care into your application by answering our questions thoughtfully without spelling and grammatical errors. We review every application manually, and you’ll find many tips on our website, FAQ, and on our YouTube channel. Watch our videos and follow us on social media to get a sense of why successful candidates make it.

Hollie: Thanks, Devin. And while we may not have the capacity to provide feedback on every application that is in advanced, we do ensure that all candidates are notified about their selection status, and you can expect to hear from us within 10 business days of submitting your application and at every stage of the selection process that you complete. We have one more question here. If I’ve applied before and was not selected, can I apply again?

Devin: Yeah. In the past, we’ve hired people who applied a second time, and what made them stand out is they met every experience requirement on their resume. They really took care when responding to the application questions and throughout the rest of the hiring process, and they didn’t reapply right away. They waited until they had a little more experience under their belt so that they could put their best foot forward. If you are considering reapplying, taking the time to really review our FAQs, career pages and job descriptions will help clarify why Boldly did not move forward with your application and identify areas for improvement so that when you reapply, your application is more aligned with what we’re looking for to meet our client’s expectations.

Hollie: Great. So the key takeaway here are (1) to know that we do respond to every single application, (2) you’re welcome to reapply but we recommend getting some more experience under your belt before you do so, and (3) there are so many resources on our website and social media channels to help you gain a better understanding of what we’re looking for. So be sure to check those out. This concludes our episode on understanding the reapplication process. Thank you so much for your interest in joining our team and for taking the time to learn more about our recruitment process and what it’s like to work at Boldly. Take care and have a great day!
