Hollie: Greetings and welcome back to the Boldly Podcast. I’m your host, Hollie Swofford, the Director of Team Operations at Boldly, and I’m joined by Boldly Recruitment Manager Devin Drake to talk about working at Boldly and answer the frequently asked questions we receive from candidates just like you. To kick things off, let’s hear from Devin.
Devin: Thanks Hollie, and a big thank you to everyone for tuning in. We’ve compiled a list of the top questions candidates ask, and throughout this podcast series, we’ll be answering them all. In this episode, we’re diving into a topic that’s always top of mind: pay and benefits.
Hollie: Wonderful. I’ll start by saying that if you’ve checked out our website or job descriptions, you’ve seen the pay range in benefits for these positions. Today we’re going to focus more on the common questions received related to those topics, and our first question is, as you grow with Boldly, can you eventually grow your compensation outside of the range currently listed?
Devin: This is such a great question. The pay range we provide reflects the current compensation for our entire team with the higher end reserved for our more senior members who have longer tenure with Boldly. While we regularly offer raises and periodically review the pay structure to ensure it remains competitive, this is our current range. Compensation beyond it isn’t possible at this time as we aim to maintain fairness and consistency across the board, and in fact, most new team members will join Boldly at the low to middle end of the pay range depending on their location.
Hollie: Thanks for clarifying that, Devin. It’s great for candidates to know that there’s a structure in place to ensure fairness for everyone. Now, let’s switch gears a little bit. One question we often get is about time off. How do PTO and paid holidays work for both part-time and full-time employees?
Devin: Well, at Boldly we believe in taking care of our team, so whether you’re full-time or part-time, all employees receive both paid holidays and paid time off. Specifically, our team accrues 10 days of PTO annually, and we also observe nine paid holidays throughout the year. This ensures that everyone has the opportunity to take time off, recharge, and enjoy personal time regardless of whether they’re working full-time or part-time.
Hollie: That sounds fantastic. I’ll also mention that we understand that different holidays hold significance for different people and you may prefer to have more options for which holidays you observe. In line with our commitment to workplace flexibility, two of those nine paid holidays Devin mentioned, are what we call flexible holidays, allowing team members to choose which holidays to observe without using up their PTO. Now, let’s talk about health benefits. Another important aspect. Candidates often ask how does health insurance work at Boldly and can dependents be covered?
Devin: Health insurance benefits are available for our team members who work full-time. This includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. For medical, the coverage is through Aetna and there are a variety of plans to choose from. You can cover dependents and the premium will vary based on the plan you choose and the number of dependents you want to cover. For our basic plan, Boldly covers 100% of the premium for the employee. Additionally, we contribute the same amount towards other available plans to help offset the costs, making it more affordable if you decide to choose a higher-level plan or include dependents.
Hollie: Thanks, Devin. That’s all the questions we have for today. As always, if you have more questions or need further information, be sure to check out our website. We have an entire page dedicated to benefits. Thanks to everyone for tuning in and we look forward to seeing you in our next episode where we’ll continue to explore your frequently asked questions and what makes Boldly a unique and exciting place to work. Until then, take care and have a great day!
